Conservative political organizations such as Moms for Liberty and Turning Point USA (TPUSA), the student organization founded by Charlie Kirk in 2012, remain visible in trying to infiltrate school boards across California. Through political organizing, candidate support, and advocacy, these groups seek to influence public education policy at both the K–12 and higher education levels. Their efforts challenge the role of traditional public education while promoting alternatives, including private Christian and classical schools.

You may remember the controversy surrounding the formation of Club America, a Turning Point USA student chapter at Twelve Bridges High School in Lincoln in December 2025. The club's establishment prompted strong opposition and public protests organized by local groups, including the Placer County Democratic Party.

Turning Point Action and Moms for Liberty are actively involved in  efforts to influence school board elections and education policy in the mid-term elections.  Local school board races, including the Placer Couty area, have become an important arena  for control over curriculum, banning books, parental rights, LGBTQ+ inclusion, and the direction of public education.

Local Candidates and Organizational Connections

Although Marjorie Proffitt, a candidate for the Western Placer Unified School District Board, is not formally listed on Turning Point Action's national endorsement roster, local political observers have identified her as a supporter of the Turning Point USA high school chapter in the district..She was instrumental in the establishment of the divisive “Club America”  mentioned above. She invited Lincoln’s former Mayor Holly Andreatta, to speak to the club.

It is recorded that Placer GOP endorsed WPUSD candidates Marjorie Profitt, Quinn Eichhorst, and Michelle Kubo.

Moms for Liberty has also been associated with other candidates in California school districts. Two candidates with reported connections to the organization are:

·  Wendy Biel — Roseville City School District, Trustee Area 4: Biel has been identified as the Co-Chair for the Placer County chapter of Moms for Liberty.

·  Jessica Spaid — Placer Union High School District: Spaid's reported endorsements include Tom McClintock, Kevin Kiley, Joe Patterson, and Placer County Moms for Liberty.
